01 · my role
Over the course of eleven months, I had the opportunity to work on an exciting and challenging project for the Volkswagen Group. The goal was to develop a large-scale e-commerce platform that would enable customers to buy cars entirely online, streamlining the purchasing process with a seamless digital experience. The platform was designed using a white-label approach, ensuring it could be adapted for four different brands within the VW Group in the future.
As part of this project, I worked in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment, actively participating in all ceremonies and meticulously planning my tasks for each Program Increment (PI). My main responsibility was designing the entire checkout process, a crucial part of the platform. Working on a team with three UX designers, I was responsible for delivering UI screens that aligned with the UX concepts while also meeting business and stakeholder requirements.
A key aspect of my role involved close collaboration with the UX team to ensure all requirements were properly integrated. Additionally, I worked closely with the Design System Team, aligning and requesting necessary components to maintain design consistency across the platform. Beyond design work, I supported my team by assisting frontend developers (FE) and quality assurance (QA) professionals, ensuring smooth implementation and functionality.
To foster collaboration and innovation, our team also held workshops to brainstorm ideas and refine our approach. Since most of the team was based in Germany, they traveled to Lisbon for in-person sessions, allowing us to align more effectively and strengthen our teamwork.
The challenge was to deliver a coherent
checkout within a platform built by multiple
teams and designed to adapt across brands.

For design execution, I primarily used Figma, while presentations to clients were conducted via Miro, and documentation was maintained in Confluence. This project was an incredible learning experience that allowed me to bridge the gap between design and business requirements, refining my ability to incorporate business needs into my designs. Additionally, it significantly strengthened my soft skills, particularly in presenting and communication, as I had to align with multiple teams and stakeholders throughout the process.
Overall, this experience was a milestone in my career, combining strategic design thinking with technical execution to deliver a scalable and impactful e-commerce platform for Volkswagen Group.
Unfortunately I can't post many more details or designs online, however if you send me a message I'd love to chat about my experience and what we created!
